LEXUS LF-C CONCEPT

The LF-C concept car was shown at the 2004 New York Auto Show, and Lexus generally do not produce concepts purely for the sake of it, most cars strongly hint at future models.
The LF-C is similar in that respect as it was thought at the time that the concept hinted Lexus were seriously considering producing a smaller model to rival other premium manufacturers such as the BMW 1 Series and the Audi A3.

The LF-C concept car featured a retractable hard top, and actually was a taste of the forthcoming Lexus IS convertible model, although the industry speculators that had suggested that the smaller Audi A3 rivalling model were not completely wrong, it was just put on the back burner for a while, and an almost production ready small hatch concept called the LF-Ch was eventually shown much later at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show.
